Our favourite wine place in Rye, whether we want to chat, drink champagne, wine or eat meze, never fails to please. Locals and visitors equally welcome, and all mix together. Great staff, really friendly. And they serve Chapel Down beers. Recommended.
We have been visiting Rye for over ten years, its lovely and quaint. All the pubs are great in there own way. But this place !!! What a find, great wines, the best Prosecco I’ve ever tasted. Needless to say we will be back.

Nestled away at the top of Conduit Hill is a relaxed wine bar. Serving wine, champagne and local ales to name a few this is a gem that’s opened since our last visit. Food can be ordered through the lovely little cafe at the top of the hill and brought to your table in the grapevine. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Next time we visit we will head straight for this bar.
We stumbled on this place by chance and im glad we did. The wine list was fantastic plenty of choice we had a lovely dry bottle of prosseco and finished the night with a glass of Shiraz. They have food available (mezze style) which comes from the cafe upstairs and is really nice. The staff here are really friendly the owner allowed us to play the piano and sing and as we are musicians this was a great pleasure the barmaid Kathleen was friendly bright and bubbly and kept us supplied with tasty home marinated olives and we ended up getting involved in some Pom Pom making with the staff which was great fun after a few glasses of bubbly. The decor here is lovely like a speakeasy jazz club from the 20s.
Have popped in for drinks several times, the olives are amazing. Then we had the meze for four. It was brilliant, bread with hummus, stuffed vine leaves, delicious sausage, garlicky dips, fried halloumi and savoury pastries. All to the sound of live piano music. Perfect.
Quirky wine bar, friendly staff, good range of local craft beers. Would have liked more English wines to be available but worth a visit nonetheless.
The wine bar had a superb atmosphere, with live music, and good food brought down from the restaurant upstairs.
The staff were friendly and attentive. Thoroughly Recommended!
Went for a meal at The George Hotel in Rye and decided to try this new wine bar beforehand. Got in there about 6 o clock. The place has a very nice relaxed atmosphere, There were a few other tables that were taken. There were some comfy chairs but there were only two of them, and four of us. We therefore sat at a table for four that was just inside the door. There is a good selection of wines to choose from and the staff were polite and friendly. The only negative point, the chairs we sat on were not very comfortable, that is why I have only given the review 4 and not 5. this may seem like a small point but we would have stayed longer if the chairs were more comfortable.
Went after dinner round the corner. It’s not been open long but it has an interesting selection of wine and bottled beers. No spirits or draught beer here. A very warm welcome and offered our choice of music as well. The wines here are not cheap but the list covers local as well as overseas offerings and, if you know what you’re doing, value can be found. Comfortable seating and a long chat with owner who is very jolly. Will be interested to see how it has progressed on our return next year.
